Managing

I'd like to say a hearty Happy Vacation to Matthew who's heading south for a week to the Caribbean. I do love a good November Vacation. Maybe I'll find myself a tanning bed somewhere and take a 10 minutes voyage in my imagination ^_^ (At least we have this technology, right?)

Special Stuff!
Burgers, Fries & Breakfast Croissants are all regular fixtures now so try them and get them into your lunch repertoire!

We've settled into a regular bread routine with Fred's Bread. You're regular bread is now an Ancient Grain and Honey Loaf. You're non-seeded options are Cheese Bread (the one that comes with the Soup) or Pain Rustique (it's like ciabatta only better).

Soup today is a Vegetarian Chick Pea and Tomato Stew. (It has Nuts & Dairy!)

Special Sammys include Pulled Pork & Chicken Salad.

Salads are...
Green Salad w/ Goat Cheese, Caramelized Pear and Walnut
Citrus Poppy seed Slaw
Soba Noodle Salad
Pork Belly and Potato Salad
And new to the line up is an excellent Celeriac and Carrot Salad with a Cumin Spiced Sour Cream Dressing and some Cranberries tossed in for good measure.

See you soon,
Max

p.s. where did the time go? Sorry I'm late!

The Good News Train

There's good news on this good news train. Lots of things I totally forgot to blog about yesterday.
So, let's keep this train a-rollin'.

I forgot to tell you about the Deep Fried Apple Pie ($4.50). It's got three kinds of organic Ontario Apples in it. It's wrapped up like a Pizza Pocket (See Also: A Turnover) and then golden, delicious and hot when it gets to you. What? You want even better news? You can get it à la mode: each house made ice-cream scoop will run you two delicious dollars.

A new permanent feature for our menu (and starting tomorrow this will be available from 8am)
Hank will offer up a Breakfast Croissant Sandwich: Our own croissants with an organic fried eggs, L'Île-aux-Grues Cheddar (unpasteurized, Quebec), and Cumbrae's Ham. Available without the Ham or without the Egg - have it your way! $6

Hank's Burger ($9): Cumbrae's Chuck (caramelized onion & fresh thyme inside) with lots of great toppings. It comes on a house made English muffin and has ketchup, lemon mayo and mixed greens. Add L'Île-aux-Grues Cheddar (unpasteurized, Quebec) for $2.

Your-New-Best-Friend Fries ($5), fresh for the cafe!! Served with House made Mayo.

Soup today is Medley of Beet Soup (Vegan) unless you'd like the Crème Fraîche Garnish.

Special Sammies
Pulled Pork
Flank Steak (with Caramelized Onion Horseradish Mayo)

Salad Guys! (A new reminder, dressing/vinaigrette will come on your salad when it is prepared to order unless you would like it on the side)

Fresh Faces, Smiling Aces?

There are lots of things I have to tell you today.
LOTS.
This is an all information Blog Broadcast.

Firstly, we're changing to serve you better!
All the food will now be coming from the back kitchen. This means less waste, more love, and faster food production (all the chef's back there can jump in on the action when it gets busy!).

Secondly...
All salads will have their dressing on top! If you would like your dressing on the side please let the cashier know when you order. This will help save all those little bio-plastic containers.

The Flank Steak Sandwich will be coming with the Caramelized Onion Horseradish Mayo. Please let the cashier know if you would prefer it with the Green Onion Mayo.

Today we start an exciting new venture.
Burgers ($9): Cumbrae's Chuck (caramelized onion & fresh thyme inside) with lots of great toppings. It comes on a house made English muffin and has ketchup, lemon mayo and mixed greens. Add Cheese for $2.

Wine Bar Fries ($5), fresh for the cafe!! Served with House made Mayo.

Soup today is Chicken and Potato.

Ham and Cheese Croissant: A warmed, buttery croissant with melty, gooey L'Île-aux-Grues Cheddar from Quebec and Roasted Ham ($6)

Salads!
Soba Noodle Salad
Pork Belly and Roasted Potato with Mustard Vinaigrette
Citrus Poppy seed Slaw
Caramelized Pear, Goat Cheese & Walnuts on Greens with a Fig Vinaigrette

Who loves you, baby? It's Hank.

See you soon,
Max
