9 Church st. Update!

Good Monday everyone!

Just a quick update about the goings on at Hank's and the Wine Bar. There has been, and will continue to be, some construction going on in Hank's. A new gourmet burger restaurant is opening! The Great Burger Kitchen will be joining the 9 Church place gang. It will be owned and operated by the Wine Bar and Hank's owners.

GBK uses locally sourced, naturally raised and free range beef, pork, lamb, chicken, etc. Everything used is 100% from the province of Ontario.

Thursday Wash Out!

Good morning everybody,

Today the Hank's crew are serving up roasted garlic and vegetable soup to warm you up on this cold rainy day. It may be the same ingredients as yesterday's soup, but it's a brand new batch made fresh today. Hank's went through two soups yesterday (the roasted garlic AND a wild mushroom), that's why it's a repeat day. It was a soupy day yesterday!

Also, our Frittata today is also a popular hold over from Wednesday; the tomato and spinach frittata.

Thursday is Open Mike Night

Good morning everyone!

Today's soup is a sweet potato and rosemary, and today's frittata is a mushroom, peppers and goat cheese.

A couple of quick updates!

First, Hank's will once again be hosting an open mic night from 7pm to 11pm. Swing by to listen to a few acoustic tunes and enjoy a fantastic glass of wine, or a pint of local beer (Beau's, Mill st. Organic or a Flying Monkey Hoptical Illusion).

Second, Hank's and the Wine Bar will be closed for Monday, October the eleventh, two thousand and ten.

Hump Day!

Good morning everyone.

The Hank's crew hope you all have your Thanksgiving travel plans prepared, because trains are booked up solid. If you're sticking around Toronto remember Hank's is open Friday to Sunday until 5pm. The Wine Bar is open Friday and Saturday for lunch and supper, and Sunday for supper. However, both restaurants are closed for Thanksgiving Monday (the eleventh).

Good News and Bad News...

First the bad news... This morning it's dark, chilly and there's a chance for a little rain. I've noticed a cold going around, and the tips of a few leaves on a few trees are starting to brighten... Fall is coming.

Now for the good news! Coffee, espresso, lattes, cappucinos and piping hot teas are the perfect remedy for the Fall fear.

Today's specials are Curry Lentil soup (only a subtle curry taste, not too spicey), and a tomato and feta frittata.

Back to the Same-ol'

Good morning everyone! The busker fest is over and done with and it's back to the grind, but fear not; beautiful weather is settling in and we've got great coffee, baked goods and lunch items to wet your appetite!

This is the last week for the summer menu we've had for the last little while. Following Labour Day weekend we'll have a brand new fall menu for you, though we'll be keeping a couple favourites from the summer for a while.

Good morrow webheads!

First off, my humblest apologies for not updating the blog hier! I'm all by my lonesome in the mornings and it was a little chaotic yesterday morning. We're experiencing more traffic in the morning hours, which is nothing short of fantastic!
